Privacy policy

What this site collects, who else handles it, and how to reach me about your data.

Last updated: 2026-10-23

The short version

alexcloudstar.com has no accounts, no forms, no comments and no ads. It sets no cookies. The only visitor data comes from my hosting provider's request logs and a cookieless page view counter. I am Alex Cloudstar, I am based in Romania, and I run this site.

Hosting and request logs

The site is hosted on Vercel. When you load a page, Vercel processes the request, which includes your IP address, your browser's user agent and the URL you asked for. Vercel keeps those logs under its own privacy policy. The site's code does not collect or store them itself.

Analytics

I use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and see which pages get read. Per Vercel, it works without cookies and does not track you across sites. It reports aggregate numbers, and I cannot pick out one visitor from them. No other analytics, advertising or tracking scripts are installed.

Cookies and storage

The site sets no cookies and does not write to your browser's local storage or session storage. Sites you open from here, such as GitHub or LinkedIn, set their own cookies under their own policies.

Fonts, images and embeds

Fonts are bundled with the site and images are served from the same domain. Pages do not embed videos, maps or social widgets, so reading a page does not load content from third-party servers.

Contact

There is no contact form. If you email alexcloudstar@gmail.com, I receive your address and whatever you write, and I use it to reply. The email is handled by Gmail (Google). The contact page also links to my profiles on LinkedIn, GitHub, Twitter, YouTube and Product Hunt. Those services have their own privacy policies.

Blog cross-posting

Some blog posts are also published on dev.to, with a canonical link pointing back to the original here. If you read or comment on dev.to, that platform's privacy policy applies, not this one.

Public API

The site offers a read-only JSON API under /api/ that returns the same posts and projects as the pages. It needs no key or login and answers GET requests only. It stores nothing about callers beyond the standard Vercel request logs described above.

Your rights

Because I am based in Romania, the EU's GDPR applies. You can ask what data I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to how I use it. Email alexcloudstar@gmail.com. In practice, the only personal data I hold is email correspondence. Log and analytics data sits with Vercel, and you can make requests about it there. You can also complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP.

Changes

If this changes, I will update this page and the date at the top.
